Pompeii would have been a busy city so I guess that crowded streets would have been normal.
The buildings would have been at least two stories high so the streets would not be as light as they are now.
I liked the stepping stones across the roads
- early pedestrian crossings.
Just look at the grooves worn into some of the roads and see how many carts must have travelled this way.
