View of the battery from the Keep 		Model of the 1667 raid by the Dutch

Upnor Castle is very well maintained, although the wooden walkway around the landward walls that allowed musketeers to fire over the parapet is gone. Otherwise the castle is in much the same condition as it was during the Dutch raid in 1667.
