England is the largest part of Great Britain and has been occupied by man
for about 700,000 years.
Despite containing 83% of the total UK population, it's packed with historical
sites covering a full range of historical periods from: pre-historic like Stonehenge;
through Roman (Hadrian's Wall and numerous Roman forts and villas); Norman castles,
cathedrals and abbeys; Medieval houses and halls; Tudor palaces and streets;
industrial mills, bridges and viaducts; and planned towns and estates ranging from
the Jacobean period to after the Second World War.
I will endeavour to provide images of some but not all of these over the coming
months and years.
