Tararua Wind Farm

The Ruahines

The Clive River
Auckland

North Island is slightly smaller but contains more people than South Island - not that you would notice except in places like Auckland and Wellington. The whole population of NZ is about 4 million people on a total land mass about the size of Great Britain, Colorado or Japan. It seems to be more rolling countryside than the South Island but has a mountain range which extends from Cape Runaway to the Cook Strait.
Tararua wind farm is located on 700 hectares of private sheep and beef farming land on the south side of the Manawatu Gorge, in the Tararua Ranges.
