We were very lucky. We hadn't been in the park for more than about 5 minutes when we caught sight of a Rhinoceros in the long grass. We sat and watched for a while and were rewarded by the sight of his mate and a baby following him.

Even in the winter (July) the hippopotamus spends most of his time in the water, coming up with a snort for air every while. By one water hole we were lucky again to see a family of Hippopotami by the edge of the water hole and in the water.
